Wild Blueberry Smoothie Bowl

Smoothie bowls are a great source of nutrition. Taking the time to eat from a bowl versus drinking from a cup has its benefits. The act of chewing releases important digestive enzymes. By encouraging you to chew, this allows more time for your brain to receive the message from your stomach that you are full. Smoothie bowls are ultimately more satisfying and filling.

Wild blueberries have two times more antioxidants than ordinary blueberries. And they're jam-packed with anthocyanins, which give them their deep purplish color, and have been shown to fight inflammation in humans.

I get mine at Costco in the frozen fruit section, but you can probably find them at your local grocery store, too.

This is my all time favorite smoothie bowl recipe, which is just sweet enough and totally satisfying to the last bite.

What you'll need: Serves 2
3/4 cup frozen wild blueberries
1 cup spinach
1/2 cup Silk Unsweet Almond Milk
1/2 cup Silk Unsweet Vanilla Almond Milk Yogurt
1 frozen banana
1 Tbl almond butter (+more for the top)

Top with:
unsweetened coconut chips
other fruit, such as raspberries, strawberries, blackberries, etc.
drizzle of almond butter

*You can also add in your favorite collagen powder, protein powder, flax and chia blend, or hemp hearts for an extra healthy punch.

How to make it:
Blend all of the ingredients together in a high powered blender until smooth.

Serve in a bowl, add the toppings, and enjoy!

To clean your blender, gently rinse with water. Fill it with clean water about 1/3 of the way full. Add a dash of dish soap and blend for about 30 seconds. All of the parts should become perfectly clean! Rise and let dry.
