Tuna Melt Bagel
Tuna melts are entirely underrated. This one is loaded with herby and salty goodness.
There used to be a bagel shop next door to my workplace while living in Alaska almost 15 years ago, and they made the BEST tuna melt. I crave them every now and again, and this one is bomb.
What you’ll need:
1 can tuna
1/4 cup mayo
1/2 tsp tsp dill (or TJ’s pickle seasoning)
Pinch of salt
Shake of pepper
Squirt of lemon juice
1 tsp red or yellow onion, finely diced
Slice of heirloom tomato
Slice of cheese (provolone, cheddar, etc.)
Toasted bagel or bread
Handful of arugula, spinach, lettuce, etc.
How to make it:
Toast your bagel/bread.
Turn on the broiler to Low.
Mix together the tuna, mayo, onion, lemon juice, dill and salt & pepper.
Top your toasted bread with the tuna mixture, then tomato and cheese. Broil for 2 minutes just until the cheese melts. Watch carefully! It can burn quickly.
Top with your favorite greens and enjoy!
