What you'll need:
1-2 lbs of ground beef
1 package slider buns (Hawaiian King rolls)
1/2 onion finely chopped (or 1 tsp onion powder)
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
8 oz block cheddar cheese, shredded
8 oz cheddar cheese slices
2 Tbl butter divided: 1 Tbl for pan, 1 Tbsp melted for tops of buns

For the Burger Sauce:
1/4 cup mayonnaise
3 Tbl ketchup
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp paprika
1/2 pickle finely diced
tiny splash of pickle juice
squirt of mustard

How to make it:
Preheat the oven to 450° F. If you want fries as a side, throw those in now with a little salt and garlic powder. I always set the timer for 20 mins and put them in a cold oven. Works great for me every time.

If you're using an onion, cook that in a skillet on medium-high heat in a tablespoon of olive oil until it starts to soften. If using onion powder, just add it to the ground beef with the other spices. Cook the ground beef in a large skillet on medium-high heat. Add in all of the spices: onion powder, garlic powder, salt, pepper, BBQ seasoning, Lawry's... anything you like to season your grilled burgers with.

While the beef is cooking, grease a 9x13 baking dish with butter.

Cut the buns lengthwise so you cut the tops off all in one motion. Set the bottom part of the buns inside the baking dish.

Layer the cheddar slices across the bottom buns.

Make the burger sauce in a separate dish. Mix into the ground beef when it's fully cooked. Spread the ground beef mixture in an even layer on the sliced cheese. Shred the block cheddar and sprinkle over the beef. Place down the top buns.

Melt 1 tablespoon of butter in a small dish for brushing on the tops of the buns - or use an egg wash (one egg + 1 tsp water). Cover loosely with foil and bake at 450° for 10 mins. Remove foil and bake 4-5 more mins if needed.

The fries should be finishing up while the sliders go in the oven and they'll all be done at the same time.

These are great for lunch, dinner, or hosting! They heat up great in the microwave leftover, too. The cheese on the top and bottom helps prevent soggy buns.

Enjoy!
