Detox Bath

A full-body detox bath can be a relaxing and rejuvenating way to cleanse the skin and promote relaxation. Here are some common ingredients you can use to create an effective detox bath:

  1. Magnesium Flakes (e.g., Epsom salt) – Rich in magnesium, Epsom salt helps to relax muscles, reduce stress, and promote detoxification by drawing out toxins from the body. But not all salts are the same. Look for the only ingredient to be magnesium chloride.

  2. Baking Soda – Helps to neutralize acids in the body, soften the skin, and balance pH levels, while promoting detoxification.

  3. Apple Cider Vinegar – Known for its detoxifying properties, apple cider vinegar can help balance the skin's pH, remove toxins, and promote circulation.

  4. Sea Salt – Contains minerals that help to nourish the skin, improve circulation, and aid in the removal of toxins.

  5. Essential Oils – Add calming and healing properties. Lavender, eucalyptus, and peppermint oils are popular choices for relaxation, detoxification, and supporting respiratory health.

  6. Clay (e.g., Bentonite Clay) – Known for its ability to draw out impurities and toxins from the body through the skin.

  7. Herbs (e.g., Ginger, Lavender, Chamomile) – Ginger helps increase circulation and stimulates sweating, while herbs like lavender and chamomile can calm and relax the body.

  8. Lemon Juice – Known for its alkalizing effects and its ability to aid in digestion and detoxification.

A typical detox bath might include:

  • 1-2 cups of plain Epsom salt

  • 1/2 cup of baking soda

  • 1/2 cup of apple cider vinegar

  • 5-10 drops of essential oil

  • 1/4 cup Bentonite clay or a handful of herbs

Soaking for 20-30 minutes allows your body to absorb the beneficial minerals and nutrients, helping to release toxins, reduce stress, and promote relaxation. Be sure to stay hydrated before, during, and after the bath!
